MY STORY:
I have always loved fabric, painting, creating and ALL things with a beautiful surface pattern design. The Grungy Heart represents my love of primitive and rustic styles in my art and my motto is: Art with purpose, not perfection. We all have a little grunge in our past, and none of us is perfect nor will anything we create be perfect in the eyes of every customer. But I hope making art fun, a bit quirky, or a tad vintage will bring the sense of love and home to each friend I encounter.
If this sounds a bit odd, I also went on to be a registered nurse nurturing and caring for the most critical of patients where perfection in most cases did not occur but comfort and love did. Now as a retiree, I am embracing the artistic side which is in my heart once again, creating things that bring joy and inspiration, comfort and love whether for home, family, or gifting.
Encouraged by my maternal grandparents, Everett and Eva Fern at a very young age, I am creating surface pattern designs for fabric and other surfaces under Everfern & Juniper- honoring God in their name. The initials EJ also honors my mother and dad. Stay tuned for progress and stories that inspire my art and products moving forward.
